Introduction
Lights! Camera! Action! As an independent filmmaker, I understand the importance of being versatile and flexible. Having migrated to the States, I never imagined myself near a camera, let alone in front of one. Through my academic journey and my willingness to explore new experiences, I’ve discovered that life can lead you in unexpected directions. I am an avid soccer player, scuba diver, musician, film director/writer, and world traveler.
As I embark on this new adventure in front of the camera, I embrace the challenges it brings, the persistence and vigor required to succeed, and the ambition to forge a path I never dreamed of. I look forward to seeing where this exciting journey takes me.

Bio
Hello, or as I like to say, “wah gwaan” or “mawning” no matter the time of day, my name is Stacey Frazer. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, and raised in Atlanta, GA, I am the youngest girl of four children, with my brother following me by seven years. As a middle child, I often felt seen and not heard, which led me to suppress my thoughts and feelings, develop low self-esteem, and be a deeply rooted introvert. Despite my quiet demeanor, my imagination took me to various places, eventually leading me to a deep fascination with television and film.
This curiosity grew into a passion as I delved into the world behind the scenes of movies and TV shows. My educational journey took me to Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), where I pursued a master’s in film & television. I found a space where I could truly grow as Stacey Frazer, the director and writer, with boundless potential.
In 2012, while at Oakwood University studying Broadcast Journalism (B.A.), I experienced sudden vision loss in my right eye and was later diagnosed with Peripapillary Choroidal Neovascular Membrane Disease. This condition became a humbling experience rather than an obstacle, and despite losing central vision in my left eye in 2017, I persevered. I left my master’s program temporarily but returned to complete my degree in March 2022. Today, I proudly stand as a SCAD alum, embracing the journey and the resilience that has shaped my career in film and television.
Having migrated to the States, I never imagined myself near a camera, let alone in front of one. The child who often struggled with low self-esteem and suppression is learning to love herself each day. I love watching movies, playing soccer, scuba diving, playing piano, and traveling. I have great appreciation in the small moments, I find joy in giving more than I receive, and I strive for a peace that passes all understanding daily.
Through life’s journey, I’ve learned that it can lead you in unexpected directions. When it does, sometimes you go with it, but go with discernment to better navigate the path you find yourself on. As I embark on this new adventure in front of the camera, I embrace the challenges it brings, the persistence and vigor required to succeed, and the ambition to carve out a path I never dreamed of. I look forward to seeing where this exciting journey takes me.
